    A few months ago I started a fun experiment: I blocked every account that promoted a tweet in my timeline. This progressively makes your twitter ads weirder, as twitter desperately tries to find *something* to monetize. Now I'm getting ads for mining equipment. It's delightful!

    My Twitter rules: 1. Unfollow everyone >50k followers 2. Try to actively find great accounts ~500 followers 3. Have a really high bar for accounts >5k followers 4. Mute retweets for almost all accounts except consistently great amplifiers of undervalued accounts What are yours?

    My 2-year old son has permanently ruined my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist and there's no way to fix this. There's no "revert the dataset", nothing, my recommendations are lost like tears in the rain.

    This pearl-clutching is why I think the US is in terminal decline. Somebody's putting 12,000 satellites in space (!!!), and all people can talk about are invented downsides. I wanted to immigrate to a spacefaring civilization, and instead I find I've moved to Rome in 400AD.
