- Kathy Biddle was at a loss for words when they gave her the news. Biddle was told that Clearwater High School’s football field will be called the Katherine H. Biddle Field at Jack White Stadium. It is the first football field in the county to be named after a female.

- Jessie Boyce, a mathematics teacher at Tyrone Middle School, was named the Pinellas County Schools Outstanding Educator of the Year. The announcement was made Wednesday night at the Evening of Excellence held at St. Petersburg’s Mahaffey Theater.
