- I always make time to give piano lessons to Joy, now 88, widowed, at home with limited mobility, but who still practises most days - here playing me a Beethoven bagatelle at this morning’s lesson. She lives up to her name every time I teach her. #NeverGiveUp

- Every single one of these Norwegian state school teenagers (who gave up their Saturday to rehearse with me today) is here experiencing their very first Mozart Requiem, ahead of our concerts next week. There is simply no greater musical gift than being part of these introductions.
