Between 2022 and 2025, I have the privilege of visiting 2 to 3 schools each week, observing over 100 lessons a month.
I have written up everything I learned in 16 books.
So, on my birthday today I received one extra special suprise present... Isaac Robert Barton.
Have literally never been happier in my life.
Mother and baby doing super well.
Having nicked my birthday, I just hope he doesn't decide to start his own podcast 🐣👶🎁♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Isaac now has a little brother. Jacob William Barton, born yesterday at 2.45am.
Isaac last night: "I don't like that baby"
Isaac this morning when Jacob was crying: "don't worry Jacob, your big brother is here"
So that issue is clearly resolved 🥸
40 mixed-topic mini quizzes to help students prepare for Year 6 SATs. Use in class or online for free. Oh, and each one has a follow-up quiz as well.
Hope they are useful

My favourite year keeps getting better. This little cracker due end of January. Just enough time to play them the back catalogue of podcasts, so they arrive fully versed in Cognitive Load Theory, Explicit Instruction, Desirable Difficulties & "flipping heck" 😊♥️🎉🍼👶
I just wanted to thank everyone who has been kind enough to buy my book. I am relieved it is finally out into the wild, incredibly nervous about its reception, but above all happy and proud. I really hope you all enjoy it. Thank you so, so much. Craig
One year ago today I was a man who could sleep, string sentences together and generally function. But I was nowhere near as happy.
The best birthday present ever 🎁🎂🎉❤️❤️❤️
I fear my professional life has officially peaked.
7 years ago I was lucky enough to watch a @dylanwiliam workshop in Bolton that changed everything. These last two days I have had the pleasure and honour of delivering a workshop in Sweden alongside him.
It's downhill from here
Had the first operation of my Long Covid treatment today. All seems to have gone well.
My priority now is to make sure I get some lunch before they boot me out.
Apologies if I'm slow to reply to emails and DMs over the next few weeks
Thanks so much for all your kind messages last week. They really helped.
I'm staying away a little while longer, but incase you were worried about my productivity, fear not!
I've invented the game "What's in the box?".
Here's the dramatic conclusion to today's installment
Bit disappointed by the Game of Thrones finale? GCSE paper 1 didn't go as well as your students hoped? Feeling down about Brexit?
Then here is my son laughing his head off at a dummy 🐣
I do not write this for any sympathy, but just to explain why I am quiet, and hopefully let others who may be feeling something similar know that you are not alone!
Take care, be safe, and see you soon
Craig
