    Tom Joyner is one of a kind! He showed up today as @MorganStateU Commencement Speaker with nearly $4,000 in cash in $5 bills and gave one to each graduate. He challenged each one to grow that $5 into millions and then give some of it back to beloved Morgan. Powerful!

    Are you ready for new student housing? Before I left campus on yesterday, I gave the final approval for this 670 bed residential hall with a new dining room. Groundbreaking in September with a completion date set for August 2022.This will be the new Thurgood Marshall Hall.

    This is the next building to be built at the National Treasure,@MorganStateU a 200,000 sq ft facility housing the School of Social Work,School of Community Health and Policy, Nursing,Medical Technology, and the Family and Consumer Sciences. Move-in during Summer 2024.

    I had the honor to be in the East Room of the White House as the Queen performed with the famed ⁦@MorganStateU⁩ Choir. ⁦@AprilDRyan⁩ and I acted like we were in a Black Baptist Church. We would not be quiet. It was an evening I’ll never forget. RIP, our QUEEN!

    In 1939, white neighbors across the street from ⁦@MorganStateU⁩ built a wall to keep students from venturing into their neighborhoods and shopping center. This morning, we started razing that wall. Hate should never endure. Down with hate, up with healing!

    I’m pleased to announce that we’ll be moving forward to build a second residential hall (12 floors, over 600 beds) next to the nearly-completed Thurgood Marshall Hall. Marshall Hall (nearly 700 beds) will open in 5-6 weeks. The tower to your left will open in 2024. ⁦
