Permit me to celebrate my late father, Alao Aka-Bashorun. He is one of the unsung heroes of June 12. His sickness after Kudirat’s death relegated him to the background. He had a partial stroke. Once you are out of mainstream politics, Nigeria seems to forget. Dad, I duff my hat.

My father was the fiercest voice against the military during his own time. He led the civil societies and unions. He was the only one MKO could run to, to get labour’s support when Babangida rose against him. One day, his story will make mainstream. For now, I duff my hat, Dad.

My people, how are you? I haven’t tweeted since my ordeal. Didn’t realize how traumatic my experience was till I noticed I’m deep in thought. I haven’t been sleeping ooo. I’m up till about 4am, very unusual for me. My mind is floating around. Is that normal?

I saw a small gathering of people laughing, chatting and getting on with life. It then hit me, if we had died, life would still go on and these guys will share their moment of laugher. Shops were vandalized, looted and razed. Owners are in pain but hey, life goes on...sad truth

2. If you represent the people as a politician, everything you say at this time MUST be in the interest of those who voted you in. Nothing is hidden anymore. Everyone is being scrutinized. So, think first of your people before you speak. Old ways are no more acceptable.
