- Things are moving so rapidly, so drastically, I fear the news media — gutted by layoffs & closures — is not suitably resourced or equipped to report on all that is happening w/ the depth it requires. Journalists are doing great work, but they're stretched thin. We need reserves.

- NTSB says it won't email reporters anymore. Instead, it'll post on Musk-owned X. Many reporters rely on email updates to keep public informed. I’m more likely to see email on phone, esp. when covering breaking news. X is closed system. You have to be member/log in to see posts.For media covering the airplane crashes in Washington and Philadelphia—all NTSB updates about news conferences or other investigative information will be posted to this X account. - A judge has rescinded his order that ICE provide toothbrushes to migrants detained at 26 Federal Plaza, Manhattan after DOJ said they "can be readily improvised as weapons." Meanwhile, at the federal jail in Brooklyn, inmates can buy toothbrushes at the commissary for 85 cents.
- Between website deletions, Pentagon booting news outlets and press offices switching from emails to X posts, there are lots of blackout curtains going up around government transparency, accountability and the dissemination of information to the public.
