Nebraska just beat the No. 1 team in the country on the road with its No. 4 starter (maybe?), missing the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, running the bases like it’s downed at least four Elk Creek pitchers in an hour all while its shortstop pitched the final 4.2 innings. Baseball!

A program that has every possible resource and has a fan base that is asked to not just come to games but donate to the AD and the collective, got out coached, out played by a 2-5 UCLA team and is once again wandering in the November wilderness.

If you keep running WR screens behind someone who can’t block and has shown he can’t block that’s no longer on the player. That’s a startling lack of comprehension and understanding of your own team. And to do it repeatedly is self-sabotage.

Nebraska, a school by all accounts has taken COVID-19 seriously and was buying its own rapid testing before a conference mandated one, is the one getting shit nationally and not any place that’s had outbreaks. All because it has audacity of wanting to play like everyone else.

The same officiating crew that can spot Alex Bullock “not being set” can’t spot a single hold on Ohio State all day. Not when someone’s grabbed by the neck or the arm is being held or when a defensive back is holding the jersey when the ball is in the air. The Big Ten.

Malcolm Hartzog makes the play that's eluded Nebraska for years. The fact he needed to make the play in a game against a mid-level Big 12 team is another discussion, but for at least one night Nebraska answered the bell. But this team isn't nearly what it needs to be.
