I think a lot of people have a fundamental misunderstanding of why voice actors are mad.
We understand that people from around the world can take jobs. I myself am non-union - like the overwhelming majority of voice actors.
We are mad because 1 - no one "passed the torch" and 2
I normally try to be pretty professional on here, but if you don't like me speaking out against actors scabbing and taking striking actors roles...
... kindly fuck off.
I am not going to be silenced just because you don't care about us getting ripped off and abused by these
I had a Chinese studio sign a contract that forbade them from using AI.
They made clones of us anyway, without telling us, and then injected lines we never said into a major live service game.
These studios do not care. What power does a single actor have to stop it?
"It's against Chinese law to AI without concent"
1. Hoyo's headquarters is based in Singapore
2. Then why didn't they sign the NAVA rider?
3. This means nothing for American citizens?
4. There's a lot of non-actor opinions about what's good for the actors they are talking over.
This reads like the union just worked to squeeze out all non-union talent by making it so the major studios essentially only use AI replicas of current union talent?
Anyone want to actually explain to us what all this means?
Just a bit of warning for newer Voice Actors.
Enboga Today is a low ADR paying studio that refuses to pay their actors, directors, and sound engineers.
They stole HUNDREDS of hours each from myself, my fellow actors, and the directors and staff for the shows we worked.
Some perspective I think a lot of newer and even not so new VO folks need to hear:
One thing they don't tell you when you are a new voice actor that you absolutely MUST understand - this is a multi-year endeavor. YEARS. It will take you literal YEARS to gain traction.
This is
There are a whole lot of people who think that they are the good guy, saying a whole lot of vile things to me the past couple days.
All I want is for us to not have our voices stolen and to continue working.
