Thank you to everyone for all of your kind responses. For those curious, Bryan was part of Green Beret ODA team 3212. They were ambushed in Tongo Tongo, Niger on October 04,2017. That day we lost four Americans and five Nigerien soldiers. To learn more you can read my book

These men knew and loved my husband, they understand the bond he had with his boys. They now stand in the gap, celebrating my sons wins, and honoring Bryan in the most important way, by loving his sons too.I want to recognize these unsung heroes for supporting the survivors.

To some it is just a flag but to me, my in-laws, and my children, it represents all that Bryan gave, his last full measure. It is pain, beauty, and hope. I thank those who protect it, there is no better country on this earth, no higher price that has been paid to protect freedom.
