    Black and Latinx children may be more likely to have parents/ family members who are essential caregivers/workers who stand a higher risk of exposure. This is not about genes.

    Yesterday, I taught the Fugitive Slave Act and the introduction of mob justice to matters of freedom, liberty, and autonomy. The Texas abortion ban (SB8), which weaponizes citizen participation in surveillance and blocking abortion rights is history revisited.

    So important to recognize forced pregnancy as forced, involuntary servitude. I argue that it violates the 13th Amendment. Here's part of the order signed by Judge Robert C.I. McBurney recognizing it's "eerily reminiscent" history to slavery in the GA Court order:

    Already there's this myth and narrative that only a handful of Black women in the U.S. qualify to serve on the Supreme Court. Folks, it's inaccurate, utterly illogical, and plays into baseless stereotypes--based on standards applied to current Supreme Court Justices.
