My husband purchased a world map...gave me a dart and said "throw this and wherever it lands I'm taking you for a holiday when this pandemic is over". Turns out we're spending two weeks behind the fridge. :(

So, what do other countries do when it comes to housing investors & foreign buyers? Here's what Singapore is doing!

Watching the BC leaders debate. @Dave_Eby says we should look at the great things First Nations are doing at the south end of the Burrard St Bridge. Well, I see it almost every day and as an architect said to me today, it's their way of saying "it's payback time". It's awful.

My friend, once a celebrated Vancouver anesthesiologist, needs hospital attention. But he's stuck in emergency because there isn't a bed available. They are all occupied by unvaccinated people with Civid. This really isn't fair.

I'm really confused by the police liaison officers in schools issue. I would have thought it was a good way for kids to see the police as friends & a positive influence, not nasty people to fear. @CBCStephenQuinn

.@bctoday I can't imagine a more absurd way of addressing this problem. If you need any proof, why am I receiving $110 when I don't need the money and I drive an electric car? We really should be targeting government assistance to those in greatest need.

Sad news. Joe Segal, one of Vancouver's most successful businessmen and a major philanthropist who supported so many causes passed away last night at age 97. The city will not be the same without him.

To those wondering what the impact of prohibiting @Airbnb & short-term rentals has been in Victoria, try booking accommodation for this coming weekend.

An elderly lady lives in her house year round. For estate planning reasons her son is also on title. He doesn't live in the house. He is now being told he must pay the Speculation & Vacancy Tax. The house isn't vacant. No one is speculating. Is this right @Dave_Eby? @noahsarna

Watching tonight's #BCLeadersDebate, without a doubt this is the winner. She won't be premier but she's probably right when she says we need a government that includes some @BCGreens

So was I the only person who had difficulty getting a cab in Vancouver tonight? Whether it's #Uber or #Lyft or something else, we must get taxi-alternatives in Vcr, so people don't drink & drive & young women can get home safely!

Vancouver property owner wants to build small rental building on his vacant lot. Planners couldn't accept a Dev. Permit appl'n since site needed rezoning but wouldn't accept rezoning appl'n due to OCP. Told to wait. Now city is charging him Empty Home Tax on land. This is wrong!

Am I the only one who thinks a one-time $500 benefit to low-income renters is a foolish idea? Why not put the money (and a lot more) into more non-market units?

Since it's Friday and it's been a tough week I thought I would tweet a photo I just received of my new granddaughter. I invite everyone who has new grandchildren to tweet their photos too! :-)
