The program aims to reduce case backlogs, ease prison congestion & accelerate justice through negotiated settlements. Coordinated by HW Justine Atukwasa (ADR Registrar) with support from judicial officers, State Attorneys, defence counsels & CSOs from Kampala & nearby districts
Over 300 offenders ( inclusive of 36 females) have been sentenced to Community Service in the ongoing 5-day non-capital Plea Bargain Hearings for Kampala Metropolitan Area. Sessions started June 1, 2026 at JTI Nakawa, with inmates from Kampala Remand & Luzira Women’s Prisons. /1
The training covered the Ministry’s mandate, disciplinary procedures, and gender & HIV/AIDS mainstreaming. Interns will be deployed across Ministry Headquarters, @DCICUg, Department of Community Service, Government Analytical Laboratory, NGO Bureau, and the Amnesty Commission./2

The service delivery at @mia_uga is very good , both at Old portbell and in Kyambogo where passports are picked from i entered at 10:00am by 10:20am i was out.
