I am so excited & proud to share my first Broadway review — an honor + responsibility I have been striving for since day one. It feels like a gift, so what better show to start with than one of Christmas cheer? ☺️🎄 Check out my review of ELF here:

Phantom Broadway’s makeup artist, Thelma Pollard, has been with the production since opening night in 1988. She has put makeup on every single Phantom in Broadway history. An absolute legend.

Funny Girl intermission live report: once Beanie started belting out “I’ll march my band out…” most of the audience jumped to their feet not just cheering but SCREAMING, and everyone held the standing ovation until the curtain closed!! 😭😭😭😭 it’s what she deserves!! 👏👏

LEGALLY BLONDE IS THE BEST MODERN MOVIE-TO-STAGE ADAPTION BECAUSE IT’S BETTER THAN THE FILM WHILE STAYING TRUE TO ITS VISION. THE SONGS EXPAND UPON THE CHARACTERS’ DEPTH RATHER THAN FORCEFULLY TRYING TO ADD DEPTH WHERE THERE ISN’T, & THE FILM’S TONE/VOICE IS TRANSLATED SEAMLESSLY

While we’re on the subject of hot takes, Christine should take the final bow in Phantom of the Opera, that is all, have a good day

On a lighter note, my lovely boyfriend who works at a ticketing company says they’ve been bombarded with tickets for Beanie’s remaining run 🥺 I just hope she knows that there is love out there for her, despite how it may be drowned out.

This Merrily We Roll Along production is going to be *that* revival in 30 years that everyone looks back on as *THE* revival. Truly a masterpiece.

Behind every hot girl there is a deep history with The Phantom of the Opera

I will never, ever forget how when saying the “that’s life at the theatre!” line at the end of the show, Beanie *screamed* the line in what I can only describe as a spiteful cry. It was SO powerful. She knows this story has become her story and she IS the greatest star, damn it!!

Y’all, Broadway Reddit can be a wild place…but someone shot her shot on there today to see if she could connect with a guy that was sitting near her at a show and he found the post + commented 😭 this is genuinely the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in an online theatre forum 😭😭

Got 5 minutes worth of video of everyone going wild for Beanie at curtain call + the cast’s goodbye speech…curtain call ended with Jared getting everyone to cheer: BEANIE! BEANIE! BEANIE! 😭 here’s a short lil clip of that 🥹💖

Just wanna say re: Beanie/the Funny Girl trailer, I can’t really recall a time before this casting where a plus-sized woman was cast as a romantic lead on Broadway in a major, classic show…so, yeah, I’m honestly (joyfully) crying at this trailer. Representation fucking matters.

Also some people may think this is too “radical” but honestly, I feel like the ability to fully consent is eradicated (or at least severely affected) in any relationship with heavily imbalanced power dynamics.
