    In 2013, a Black woman named Miriam Carey made a U-turn at a checkpoint near the Capitol building. Capitol Police and Secret Service shot her 26 times, killing her, while her 13-month-old daughter was in the backseat.

    Thousands of white supremacists armed to the teeth were able to enter the capitol unchallenged by the same cops and federal law enforcement that shot out people's eyes with rubber bullets, drove into crowds, tear gassed the grieving, and beat and brutalized protesters all summer.
