My friend was ordered to be deported from Switzerland for overstaying his work permit. They told him the date when they would deport him and he told them there was no need because he was leaving before then. The two policemen who turned up were furious that he hadn’t waited.

I’ve just seen BBCNews item containing film of the Nazi gas chambers while they ran a Breaking News strapline about the Chief Rabbi berating Labour ‘leadership’ for antisemitism. Nobody challenges this! This is BBC running state propaganda! This is so wrong! WTF is going on?

I have no real problem with the BBC per se. There’s some very good stuff but It’s mostly dumbed-down bollocks, but if that’s what people want... My beef is with @BBCNews, which needs cleaning out, root and branch.

I’m afraid I don’t know. I’m sure they told me but it was 35 years ago and I don’t remember. I don’t think he’s been back to Switzerland since leaving then.
