‘Stay alert’ quite obviously means remember to obey the rules. Vast majority of constituents get that and why it’s important. Very clever people on Twitter not so much, apparently.

Shameful behaviour in the Commons from an opposition that claimed to respect the referendum vote but blocked Brexit; that demands an election but won’t vote for one; that puts placards on seats rather than find solutions - then has the gall to claim politics is not a game to them

Utterly baffling that @AndrewMarr9 won’t let @BorisJohnson point out the contrasts between an @Conservatives government and the Marxist, bankrupting, insecure leadership that @jeremycorbyn would provide.

A number of constituents have asked how I expect to vote in the coming weeks on Brexit. I would vote for the PM’s deal, which takes us out of the EU on time. If it falls, I will vote against an extension to Article 50 and for a WTO exit on March 29th.

The BBC's decision to press ahead with charging most over-75s the full licence fee is deeply frustrating, as I said in parliament today. The Corporation's settlement - to which they agreed - is generous and sufficient.

Today MPs debated the security implications of Huawei in the UK's 5G network. I set out the reasons why the Government will always put national security ahead of any other consideration.

A Fleet St tragedy that my former employer seems no longer to even know what Parliament is for. I’ll vote with the government but questioning the integrity of these good people is anti-democratic madness.

Lord Adonis claims the biggest Brexit issue of future months will be relationship between Lords and Commons. Actually it will be the relationship between the Lords and democracy. #sundaypolitics

If you doubt why we need to leave the EU on October 31st, read this. It is literally democracy that is at stake.
New polling shows that trust in politics has been corroded by the failure to leave the European Union, to the point where 69% of Leavers have no trust in MPs at all. Read more on this alarming statistic in @rcolvile's 'Popular Capitalism' report. bit.ly/2APgeEZ

We must respect 63:37 just as much as we should respect 52:48. Theresa May is the Prime Minister the party has voted for.

Nobody deserves to be assaulted for doing their job, except apparently politicians.

Honoured to be asked by @BorisJohnson to join @DCMS as Parliamentary Under Secretary looking after digital. It’s a hugely important area of all our lives, as I know not least from my focus on broadband in Boston and Skegness. Looking forward to getting stuck in.
