Doing DBS checks etc for my new job today. Lovely HR person says ‘I like the folder you keep your certificates in’! Doesn’t every 90s teenager have one of these? Still in use 20 years later!

I'm so sick of our national curriculum. There's not enough time to teach things properly. Everything is rushed. Why are there so many topics? Who thought this was a good idea? Where's the depth in a curriculum where you have to teach at a million miles an hour? Argh. 😡

I was on duty in the playground today. Sudden huge roar of noise from a large group of students took me by surprise.... I ran over, bracing myself, thinking there was a fight. Turns out someone had just solved a Rubik's Cube really quickly & everyone was cheering in excitement🙃

I’m incredibly sad to hear the news that Don Steward has passed away. What a wonderful man. His brilliant tasks have brought joy to our classrooms for many years. He will be greatly missed by the maths teaching community.

I passed a ‘Twitter milestone’ today. 40k. That’s fairly high for a female who commits to 100% subject-specific tweeting. It makes me happy to be able to support my fellow maths teachers on here, and to learn from them too. Thanks all.

Tutor groups at my school have designed door displays for Black History Month. Check out this awesome door in the maths corridor. Designed by students and produced by my amazing colleague Morgan.

I was complaining to my husband about the maths national curriculum being so overcrowded that we’re constantly rushing our teaching and we never have enough time. He sent me this. 😂
