Thankfully I made it home yesterday 7 days from my triple heart bypass. Relief and thanks are my biggest emotions. Going to be a slow recovery but I know from so many of your kind messages many of you have done it! @NHSuk

- Good morning my friends, my triple heart by pass (or ‘Cabbage’ if you’re in the trade) went well and I’m making good progress so say the pro’s! Hopefully up to the ward later today. Thanks for all the incredible support from all my friends, acquaintances and the football family
- As many of you know I’ve been awaiting ‘urgent’ heart surgery since May, today I’m due in hospital for an op tomorrow, currently waiting for confirmation of a bed for me! It’s been frustrating but I know there are many worse off than me.Thanks for all the positive messages x
- Replying to @GeorgeCaulkinI’ve cancelled my @SkySports package this week. Can’t stomach paying that chunk of money to pay players £300k a week and then watch the rest of football die in this country. Something has to change players deserve rewards but it’s getting insane and @premierleague run the asylum!
- Still here waiting patiently! Had my bits shaved, hibiscrub shower, spoke to the anaesthetist and just waiting for the main man (I know it could be a woman, but it is a a man!) might be radio silence til tomorrow! Blown away by all the messages ❤️

- A bit gutted not to be at SOL tonight as @SunderlandAFC welcome @dcfcofficial I’m still waiting for my heart surgery and am not going far from home or Leeds hospital! 2 of the great clubs with fans to match! 9 years and 400+ games for me between them!
- Unfortunately surgery not happening today. Nothing serious I’m a priority to be seen asap,not sure if that’s good news really, Good news is no hoovering or gardening or watching sport on TV! A bit stressed but all the messages have been a comfort so will keep them in mind!
- Thanks so much for all the marvellous messages, update is I’m still at home getting a call at 6 to see if anyone has gone home from the ward, still on the list for tomorrow but will stay at home tonight if no bed! Keeping calm so far!
- Very, very pleased to get back to ‘work’ with my team at @bbcnewcastle #TotalSport I’ve missed the lot of you and I’m so humbled by all the kind words tonight. My recovery from triple bypass is going well and I will 100% very soon!
