    I have an anecdote about Mike Conley: In 2016 I was a part-time reporter for Tencent Sports (a Chinese media company) I would go to Wizards games where I did a brief one-on-one (2-3 question) interview with a player on the visiting team, usually after the game. (1/4)

    So whenever I see clips of him being a good teammate, or read a tweet about something nice he did/said, I believe them. Mike Conley is just a respectful, friendly dude. (4/4)

    Mike Conley, however, wasn’t annoyed or indifferent. All smiles from the start. Shook my hand. Took his time and gave thoughtful answers to the questions I had. He showed me more respect than anyone had in that situation. I was 18, and that meant a lot to me. (3/4)

    Players were always slightly annoyed at this, which I completely understand. They’re tired, they just want to get on the bus and leave. And the NBA is “forcing” them to do these short interviews for Chinese fan outreach, in addition to regular locker room interviews. (2/4)

    Right now, China is mourning the death of 李文亮 (Li Wenliang). Li was a doctor working at Wuhan. On 12/30, he discovered Corona virus-like symptoms in a patient. He alerted all of his colleagues in the medical field. Three days later, he was contacted by the police (1/7)

    Making Kobe the NBA logo is almost certainly not happening (too radical of a brand change) BUT I love the idea of renaming the Most Improved Player Award the Kobe Bryant Award. It honors his dedication and work ethic.
