We are aware that the President* @realDonaldTrump continues to use our music at his rallies. We are exploring all legal avenues to prevent this, but if thatโ€™s not possible please know that we do not condone the use of our music by this fraud and con man.

40 years ago (yesterday) we started making the noise that became our lives and our lifeโ€™s work. Thanks and love to Bill, Peter, and Michael, and Bertis.

R.E.M. lied to me about the end of the world as we know it. I do not feel fine.

I still think this is one of our best, most cohesive records. It was very exciting to put something out that we totally believed in and felt great about, though we certainly had no idea that it (or we) would have the life that it did. #Murmur
Today weโ€™re celebrating the 40th anniversary of Murmur, the bandโ€™s debut album, released way back when on April 12, 1983. Visit REMHQ to read Bill, Peter, Mike, & Michael's Murmur Memories: bit.ly/murmur40 #murmur40 ๐Ÿ“ธ @BossladyVego

So, 30th anniversary of the release of Out Of Time. Game changer, life changer. Heard LMR in a hotel disco in Ein Gedi, and a jungle in Paraguay. Said hi to Prince at Paisley Park (he smiled back), press-toured Europe by train. Recorded Unplugged. Cool year. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ all our fans!

I met President Carter twice on flights, where I watched him do this. What he did after his Presidency is an inspiration and example for us all. Godspeed, Mr. President. #PresidentJimmyCarter

Music=product, and must be churned out regularly, says billionaire Daniel Ek. Go fuck yourself.
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek says working musicians can no longer release music only โ€œonce every three to four years.โ€ thefader.com/2020/07/30/spoโ€ฆ

Michael worked his ass off designing and creating this album art, which I think is beautiful, front and back.
Flashback: Fables Of The Reconstruction was released on June 10th, 1985. Produced by Joe Boyd in London, the album, R.E.M.'s third, included the singles "Can't Get There From Here," "Driver 8," and "Wendell Gee."

Nice to see all the love for Fables here this week. It seems to have stood well the test of time. Made under some trying circumstances, it has a sound and feel all itโ€™s own (with a little British winter chill and murk mixed in). Great job, Joe Boyd.

So sad to hear about #RankingRoger. We loved the (English) Beat, and opened for them on multiple tours just so we could watch, listen, and learn. He and his mates brought a lot of joy into the world. R.I.P., Roger. #EnglishBeat
