- Our paper in Nature Immunology today, started as 3 studies in 3 separate labs and ended in a great collaboration between Ireland, Boston, Portugal and UK. It was great working with everyone involved @Claire_McIn @BSilva_Santos @danpennington7 @MathildRav nature.com/articles/s4159…
- Postdoc position available in Lynch Lab on COVID and obesity related project. Human immunology and/or metabolism experience a bonus. We are a friendly international team!
- Delighted to share our paper on adipose gd T cells making IL-17 every night for homeostasis, coordinating lipid metabolism after eating @Nature Huge effort by @Akaron0884 & @BrennethS and the team and collaborators to work this out. Aaron's Tweetorial 👇
- It was a great honor to receive the John Kettman Luminex award at @CytokineSociety in Hawaii. And for Kate to be there @FitzgeraldKate who has been an amazing and supportive role model to me and to Irish Scientists 😊🇮🇪 Thanks to Luminex, ICIS, and my lab. An amazing meeting 🌺
- 😬😳😧😆😁Nervous excitement for my Global Immunotalk tomorrow (Wed) on the paradoxes seen with obesity and immunityLooking forward to our next #globalimmuno talk this Wednesday May 11 at 9am PST noon EST 4pm GMT by Dr. Lydia Lynch. Title: Understanding the paradoxical effects of obesity on the immune system LINK: ucsd.zoom.us/j/91053505061
- Thanks so much to @CytokineSociety for this award. It’s such an honor to receive the John R Kettman award. ICIS is such a great organisation, I recommend joining! Thanks to the committee, to the people that nominated me and Luminex. Look forward to the annual meeting in Hawaii 🌴Lydia Lynch is recognized with the 2022 ICIS-Luminex Mid-Career Award for outstanding contributions to the field of cytokine biology, innate lymphoid cells, & immunometabolism @lynchielydia @Luminex @HarvardImmuno @Irishimmunology @BrighamEndo @NatImmunol cytokinesociety.org/lydia-lynch/
- PhD student Nelson LaMarche(not on Twitter) first paper published today @Cell_Metabolism. Theres more than meets the eye with these funny adipose iNKT cells, and IFNg is more important for normal metabolic homeostasis than we thought.
- Lynch lab are hiring again. 2 Postdoc positions available, one ideally with neuroimmunology experience, the other cancer immunology- human immunology a plus. As Cathal says below- Join our international friendly team !We're looking for a Post doc interested in investigating the links between obesity and the severity of COVID.
GIF - Profound metabolic effect of human obesity on natural killer cells- complete metabolic paralysis & loss of function. @NatImmunol Great team to work with including @AndyHogan82 @OSheaHoganLab @DavidFinlayTCD @LydiDyck @loftusro @MathildRav
- Obesity impairs the anti-tumor immune response. @LydiDyck @tcddublin, @lynchielydia @BrighamEndo and colleagues investigated the effects of #obesity on CD8 T cells in mouse models and patients with endometrial #cancer. bit.ly/3J0lZ3X #Metabolism #TumorImmunology
- An oldie, but great advise from Doug Green. You do it not because it provides you with security and a stable career ladder, but because you can't bring yourself to do anything else. So if that’s you’re decision, get tough and get on with it! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
- The last hurrah in Boston before the lab moves to Princeton 🐅 ! 🥳🥂
- Congratulations @CathalHarmon leading this study, a great collaboration between @HaimMoore and Alex Zaborowski, and clinicial colleagues @des_winter and @donalb5. Our bet is on gd for a cell therapy for solid tumors, and we aimed to understand them better doi.org/10.1038/s43018…
