It has been the honor of my life to represent the people of my community and serve the people of Tennessee. It is with a full heart and a deep sense of gratitude that I announce I will not be a candidate for the state Senate in 2026.
After experiencing symptoms of an irregular heartbeat, I checked into Vanderbilt hospital earlier today. Tests indicate I will likely need a pacemaker to help regulate my cardiac issues. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers. I hope to be back at work as soon as possible.
Grateful for the heroic actions and valorous service of Staff Sergeant Justin Peck of Clarksville, Tennessee recognized this evening by @POTUS in #SOTU2018.
Happy to report my pacemaker surgery went smoothly. Currently in recovery and resting comfortably. Thank you to friends, family, colleagues and citizens across the state for your messages, prayers and support. Looking forward to getting back to work!

In Tennessee, we officially recognize the third Monday in February as Washington Day to commemorate the birth of the father of our nation and our first president, George Washington. Happy Washington Day, Tennessee!
Beautiful day to enjoy a frozen treat and welcome ICEE headquarters to Tennessee! With low taxes and a skilled workforce our state is a destination, and we’re proud to announce 200 jobs coming to La Vergne.
May we always remember the acts heroism committed by our first responders and the sense of unity we shared on this day 19 years ago. Let us never forget, not for one moment, those who served, those who died and those who carry on.
