- This is an update from the City of La Porte. The City has issued a Shelter in Place for all areas of La Porte east of Bay Area Blvd due to a chemical incident on Bay Area Blvd, south of Fairmont Pkwy. All areas east of Bay Area Blvd need to Shelter in Place at this time.
- #Evacuation | The La Porte Fire Department has issued an evacuation .5 mile radius around 13300 Bay Area Blvd. Evacuate immediately and follow instructions of First Responders in the area.
- #ShelterInPlace | We are asking all areas EAST of Bay Area in La Porte to Shelter in Place at this time. Go inside/turn off A/C systems immediately. More information will be provided soon.
- AlertLP: This is an emergency message from the City of La Porte. A chemical emergency has occurred, and residents south of Fairmont between Bay Area and S. 16th Street need to immediately shelter in place. Please proceed to the nearest building to seek shelter.
- #RumorControl | The City of La Porte is NOT under a mandatory evacuation. Although there is no mandatory evacuation, it is still important to know your Zip Zone and be prepared in case there are changes in the track. Again, there is NO mandatory evacuation order. #ReadyLP
- #AllClear | The City is issuing an All Clear for the Shelter in Place. City officials are coordinating with Harris County Pollution Control as they continue to conduct air monitoring throughout the area. 1/3

- #AllClear | The City of La Porte has issued an All Clear for the Shelter In Place. The area under evacuation remains in effect, please avoid that area.
- #Update | Harris County Pollution Control has responded to conduct air monitoring and assist in identifying the source of the odor. We recommend that you remain sheltered in place at your location until the City issues an All Clear.
- #PipelineFire | Emergency responders are responding to a Pipeline Fire near Spencer Hwy and Summerton. The Fire Department is recommending an evacuation between Luella and Canada. Our office will update the community as more information is gathered.
- Alabama Power is in La Porte. They have completed a team huddle and are moving out into the community. Please do not approach them and give them room to work.
- #Evacuation | Evacuation of the half mile radius around 13300 Bay Area Blvd. still remains in place. Please do not return to the area until an all clear has been issued.
