After a woman was thrown out of the Scottish Parliament for wearing a scarf in suffragette colours on Tuesday, Labour MP Thangam Debonnaire, Conservative MSP Rachael Hamilton and SNP MP Joanna Cherry all seek to make sartorial statements in the chamber. 💜🤍💚

Next week, five Supreme Court justices will decide whether the definition of a 'woman' in UK law means someone born female or whether it also includes someone born male who has obtained a Gender Recognition Certificate.

I still cannot believe that a Labour MP thinks that school aged children should be taught how to practise erotic auto-asphyxiation "safely". There really are no words.

Last week I sat in the Court of Session in Edinburgh where I heard the Scottish Government's lawyer say "it may once have been thought sex at birth was immutable...it is no longer so" and now I know how it must have felt to sit through the Scopes Monkey Trial in 1925.
