If you listened to some politicians/media you’d think the Scottish NHS was collapsing. I saw my GP yesterday, she wanted an MRI done. Got a call at 9am this morning offering appt tomorrow morning. Then got one for next Wed. Fantastic service👏👏👏

- Wrong. Scotland has lowest crime rate in 42 years, partly because we don’t have pol’cal leadership spouting lies and hate speech, as you do.Just out report: "United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror." Not good, we must keep America safe!
- V pleased to see vote of no confidence in Lorna Slater, proposed by Tories & supported by Lab & LDs, soundly defeated in HR. The bullying of an individual minister & wilful ignorance about the UK govt’s wrecking role in the DRS scheme has been shameful to see.
- Attended very respectful, powerful silence at Mt Vernon Rd junction this morning to mark the tragic passing of cyclist #JamesHarrisonVigil. Thanks to all who organised this. #EnoughIsEnough
- This is so hypocritical of you @agcolehamilton You invited me to an open air meeting during lockdown, created a v hostile atmosphere encouraging an aggressive months-long campaign on social media/email against proposed transport policy + me as an individual. Bully boy indeed. 👇On BBC Debate Night, @StephenFlynnSNP was asked a question he didn't like. He turned on the audience member, outing them as a conservative activist, inviting online harassment of the young man in question by nationalist keyboard warriors. Enough of these bullyboy tactics. 👇
00:00 - There’s a nasty whiff of bullying in this concerted campaign by the @ScotTories against the Health Secretary @HumzaYousaf. Despite the enormous challenges Scottish NHS out-performing rest of UK.👇Absolute confidence? Let’s be in no doubt that Humza Yousaf is failing our NHS. And the First Minister is failing Scottish patients by her failure to sack him.
- Following justifiable criticism I spoke to the Tram team on unsuitability of cycle lane as implemented & nature of tweets in response from official acct. Lots of discussion today to sort this, paint line now removed & repositioned line going in shortly. Heras fencing moved too🤞I’m going to make a wild guess and state that - perhaps - it wasn’t a cyclist who drew up these lanes #YouHadOneJob #Trams #Leith
- My first ever e-bike ride this morning and first time properly on a bike for decades. Bloody marvellous - hills hold no fear and sense of freedom was fab-u-lous! Highly recommended.
- 1. Hot on heels of yesterday’s key announcement by @MathesonMichael encouraging LA action to implement immediate Active Travel measures & help support effective physical distancing, I am very happy to say the @Edinburgh_CC is implementing 3 fast schemes by this Sunday. These...👇
- It would appear that support for a ‘new normal’ that puts sustainable active travel( walking, cycling and wheeling) at its heart is gathering significant support from all directions. Can we create different cities and towns? As we were saying last week: ✅ PM keen to enable cycling & walking ✅ Jenrick key advocate and MHCLG important dept for delivery ✅ Metro Mayors vital and on “M9” conf call with Boris Encourage cycling and walking after lockdown, PM tells mayors theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/m…
- Finally had a chance to see some of the many new Edinburgh secure cycle storage units in operation yesterday! Already making a big difference to residents, particularly in tenements. More to follow.👍@Edinburgh_CC @cyclehoop
- Chuffed that we got this ambitious, well- made case through committee today. Significant roll out of cycle storage to reflect high demand. Hope to see more people making journeys by bike in Edinburgh if they don’t have it lug it upstairs to their flats! @Edinburgh_CCSecure, on-street cycle parking is set to be introduced across the city, helping people in flats and tenements to store their bikes: bit.ly/2zSS6Sp
- Fantastic canvassing session in The Inch this morning. Almost everyone I spoke to is voting SNP. Lots saying how much they trust @EdinburghSNP & @NicolaSturgeon in direct contrast to terrible policies and behaviour coming from some other parties & Westminster.👍
