    Many Russians think of Ukraine as a junior Russia, an appendage to the Russian Empire. Too many foreigners bought into this view. Ukrainians' courageous resistance against Russia's imperialist aggression has proven these people wrong, hopefully forever.

    Can someone explain why a Texas senator like Cornyn uses a Twitter bullhorn to ask a rhetorical question when as Senator with staff, connections & prestige of office, he has every possible means to investigate and find the answer? Sick.

    Language learning is a bit like going for a long walk. You may not reach your destination but you're definitely getting somewhere. If you can enjoy the scenery, a final destination is less important. Wherever you get to is just fine & with languages you never have to go back.

    On Russian state TV, State Duma Defense Committee's head Andrey Kartapolov proposed taking Ukrainian children from occupied territories and shipping them off to military boarding schools in Russia. Not one word about asking for their parents' permission or even their own wishes.

    Trudeau's resignation is a function of domestic politics. An unpopular Prime Minister resigned without taking responsibility for his poor performance. Trump's bleating is just noise. No interest in Canada joining the US as if that needs to be stated.

    Interesting discussion . Government should not impose "diversity" values on people. Individual Canadians should not be pigeon-holed based on ethnic origin. Ppl can explore whatever culture they want & a blending into a mainstream will naturally take place. Good on you, Max.

    I was in Maryinka June 2019 while visiting Krasnohorivka. I met generous kind people, mostly Russian speaking Ukrainian patriots. Russia must be defeated, kicked out of Ukraine & forced to pay reparations, at the very least.
