Increasing the rent without a mortgage purely to extract more profit from a tenant during a housing crisis is inexcusable. Some of us will remember what these folks did to us when they’re in their nursing homes.- we are achieving never-before-seen levels of landlord brain

That’s it. It’s been three weeks and his wife and kids have no idea what happened to him. Like others, El Salvador is holding him incommunicado.
- Reminder that there was a whole entire Democratic presidency in between "kids in cages" and "mistakenly trafficked to El Salvador" and all they did in that interval was give ICE more money

- This is 100% what happened. Landlord called in ICE to brutalize tenants and clear out the building.
There’s been so many instances exactly like this: slumlord wants to offload a property, so they call ICE and say they suspect migrant gangs/traffickers/whatever. ICE comes in, humiliates, detains, intimidates, and robs every tenant until the building clears out - Abolishing ICE shouldn't even be seen as a radical position. It was created in 2003 and well-understood by all to be a right-wing project of the Bush administration. Indeed I'd say if you *aren't* in favour of abolishing ICE, you are unambiguously right wing.Replying to @jonfavs @keithdorejel and @perrybaconjrI’m quite comfortable - morally and politically - with the position that Dem presidential candidates shouldn’t let voters believe they want to defund the police, abolish ICE, decriminalize border crossings, or provide transition surgeries for undocumented immigrants in prison.
