My lab was totally destroyed tonight by an Iranian missile. Nobody was hurt. Flies, plasmids, cells, equipment - all gone. Heart breaking. If during the course of the past 16 years, you have received something from my lab - please keep them safe.

- Replying to @lab_orenI am still in denial. But in general, we will rebuild. Not only the lab, but also society and our country. The first thing that needs to happen is elections as we need a new leadership.
- This is what’s left of my lab😞. Finally heading back home. I need to stand, with my two legs, in front of the rubble that was just a few days - my thriving lab, a home for excellent Israeli Jews and arab, as well as foreigners students. This will be my first step of acceptance.
- Replying to @lab_orenThanks for all those who sent me emails and messages of care and love. Love you back.
- A year in ongoing trauma is difficult to explain, but it’s difficult for me to concentrate on anything else. Sorry for the long long post. This year, I’ve dealt with traumas on multiple levels.
- A pretty weird response after the worlds most horrid terrorist attack (both in scale and in cruelty). And this is from the eLife editor in chief. Bye bye eLife.
- I can't stop crying. Mourning the dead. Angry at our leaders. Betrayed by friends. I can't stop crying.
- Imagine that after 9.11 some of your international friends and colleagues did not write to ask how were coping. And 7.10 was worse than 9.11 by many factors. You - my so called friends and my colleagues- we are not OK.
- Hard to breathe. Still trying to understand what happened on that dark Saturday. At the same time fighting our fascists who want to wipe out all Arabs. On the other hand, betrayed by the "humanitarians" that somehow fail to show empathy when its the life of Israeli humans.
- Out of the shelter (again). I find it outstanding that @nature, @Nancy_Kanwisher and a long list of signators find @eLife's removal of Eisen disturbing. I am writing this because this saga should not end by him appearing as the victim.‘I’m a powder keg’: ousted eLife editor on being fired in wake of Israel-Hamas remarks go.nature.com/492ax5H
- Replying to @snackvampireMira - I am not intending to get into a heated discussion with you. A pity that you did not go through my other tweets to see if I did or did not speak out against my government.
- Thanks Dmitri. Sounds like everyone, @Stanford @Harvard @MIT and many many more have lost their words. I totally understand - these are unspeakable times. Thus, I decided to write the letter for you. Feel free to forward to your uni president. ok to plagiarize it. #HamasisISISWhy can’t @Stanford leadership condemn the Hamas evil in simple and unequivocal language? I am really at a loss. Never felt so alienated and discouraged in my whole academic life. news.stanford.edu/report/2023/10…
- A letter from the @WeizmannScience president, Alon Chen, to the president of @Harvard, Claudine Gay (identical letters were sent to presidents of @MIT and @Penn). Thanks Alon for the clarity, which is actually so obvious.
- As I mentioned - my disappointment of American academia is profound. If you can't condone the massacre that happened here without adding any BUTS then you cannot call yourself humanists. It’s not only @Harvard. I have reviewed the Twitter and Instagram accounts of @Yale, @Princeton, @Columbia, @Stanford, @dartmouth and @JohnsHopkins. Not a single one of them has issued a statement about the atrocities committed by Hamas.
