    As of 8 a.m Friday, 96 percent of Kentucky's 171 school districts have announced they will continue to require all students, staff and visitors to wear masks now that SB1 is in effect eliminating the statewide mask mandate in Kentucky public schools.

    Less than 24 hours after the General Assembly passed SB1, which will eliminate the mask mandate in Kentucky public schools, at least 31 districts have announced they will continue to require all students, staff and visitors to wear masks.

    Gov. Andy Beshear speaks out against HB 2, the constitutional amendment: "Public dollars should only go to public schools. Period. I'm against this constitutional amendment and If they pass it I will work every day to defeat it at the ballot box."

    Our condolences to the family & friends of Dawson Springs Ind. school board member Jenny Bruce who was tragically lost during the weekend’s storms. She served her district for 4 decades, many as finance director. After retirement, she continued her service as a board member.

    “Notwithstanding?” What does that mean? Amendment 2 isn’t just a little tweak to KY’s constitution. If the amendment passes, lawmakers will have the power to ignore SEVEN sections of the constitution when considering education funding legislation. #VoteNoOn2 #VoteNoOnAmendment2

    Rebecca Carriker, a recent graduate of Harlan County High School, is one of the 1,100 Harlan County students designated as homeless by the U.S. Department of Education.
