Healthcare does not just belong to the doctor; it directly affects every Kenyan. Actually, a doctor's working condition is a direct reflection of a patient’s outcome 🏥
Devastating to announce the demise of 28 yr old Dr. Stephen Mogusu who has succumbed to COVID-19 complications At the time of his death he had not received his salary for 5 months, had no insurance & his young family left with no compensation.Too steep a price for Patriotism.
The KMPDU condemns in the strongest terms possible the abduction of one of our member, @Dr_AustinOmondi who was among the mobilizers of #MedicsforKenyans offering free medical aid and blood donation drive to help injured protestors. Join the search for him.

We observe the trend; Governors visit health centres & hospitals, parade health workers, decry poor state, intimidate health workers & all sorts of PR stunts. We will not stop you, but while at it make your contributions to the health care sector in your counties.
Based on the RTWF dated May 8th, intern doctors were to collect their posting letters by July 7th, 2024.The same was promised to us by @Nakhumicha_S in the presence of the president in State House. We have therefore decided to occupy the MOH day and night starting on July 8th.
All protocols observed, we will be occupying Afya House untill ALL medical interns are posted in line with the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) .

SHIF IS A CAPSIZING SHIP
SHIF is a capsizing ship! There is too much bilge water for it to sail.
We have repudiated the act from November 2023, with one message: it will deny Kenyans access to healthcare.

We condemn in the strongest terms the shooting of our SG @Davji by the police this afternoon when he was leading the Medical interns in peaceful March. The doctors of Kenya have endured enough! This is the straw that breaks the camel's back. #postmedicalinterns
KMPDU mourns the death of Dr. Doreen Adisa Lugaliki who passed on due to COVID-19 contracted at the work place. We reiterate & remind GOK & ALL Private health facilities that the Welfare,Occupational Safety & Health of frontline workers is a non-negotiable Minimum!!
The curfew was not meant to restrict doctors from performing their duties. Several reports of doctors & health workers being mistreated by police despite proper identification. The Police MUST respect health workers.
