- Gregg Berhalter's coaching résumé when he was hired: Fired from Swedish second tier for "lack of attacking play" Five seasons in MLS (finished 7th, 4th, 18th, 5th, and 10th in league standings) zero trophies zero international experience brother of U.S. Soccer CFO
- Concacaf has to overturn McKennie's red card. There's no way he's missing the final vs Canada because of that terrible call.
- Side-by-side comparison, for those interested. Based on opponent's Elo rank at the time the game was played.
- There's no reason whatsoever to be listening to what Alexi Lalas thinks about soccer.Alexi Lalas really just said Ferreira could be as good as Balogun after a hat trick vs St kitts 😭 have shame man
00:00 - It's not important, but it's kinda wild that the USMNT started a 34-year-old GK who is no higher than 4th on the depth chart against St. Kitts & Nevis when you have a promising 19-year-old from Chelsea sitting on the bench.
- Landon's hat tricks: #29 Ecuador #38 Scotland #64 Cuba Ferreira's hat tricks: #112 Trinidad & Tobago #164 St Kitts & Nevis #173 GrenadaJesus Ferreira is now tied with Landon Donovan for most hat tricks all-time in USMNT history (3). 👏👏👏
- Weah is 100% responsible for his red card. But Gregg is responsible for the team responds and moves forward. This is not leadership or accountability.
- I really love these talented USMNT players. Pulisic, McKennie, Reyna, Dest, Musah, Weah, and all the rest. They're truly special. It's a shame that U.S. Soccer chose to hire an average manager who was the CFO's brother, tactically stubborn, and over-values MLS.
- This simply has to be a yellow or a red. Guy rockets into a completely defenseless keeper and injures him.
- There's no reason to expect the US to do anything at the World Cup if they can't break down a bunkered Canada team. And it doesn't matter how many Champions League players we have if our manager can't set them up well.
- I'm not exactly sure what the bar is for firing a coach. Gregg hasn't done anything particularly awful to deserve firing. But it seems abundantly clear he is not going to be the one to take the #USMNT to the next level.
