i was fired from @OpenAI. for being difficult to work with. i knew this was my failure mode going in! being a founder for 8y beforehand i was used to being in charge. i tried my best to overcome it.

00:00 - an observation i’ve made over the years is that every sort of highly-regarded position selects for extreme stress tolerance & emotional resilience as a filtering mechanism beyond raw talent & intellect which are typically table stakes. doctors, athletes, actors, execs.
- first week at @OpenAI was a whirlwind — deployed to prod personally 3x. very impressed with the speed at which things move. there are startups where new employees don’t ship to prod for weeks. contagious excitement.
- Replying to @iamharaldurIt’s at least obvious from the Schwartz birthday (S1E5). Refusing to take help from his former cofounder is pure ego. The genius of Breaking Bad is in boiling the frog. The viewer empathizes with Walter til the end, justifying each atrocity, long after he’s “broke bad.”
- IMO, the next big investment isn't self-driving cars. It's the infrastructural changes that self-driving cars will stimulate. @pmarca
- Replying to @zeegit's consumer yeah. like replit - absolutely HUGE among school-age adopters, basically no traction in professional spheres for ~most of its life until recently. but there were high school kids in it for hours a day.
