We visited two Agent Orange communes in Vietnam. One for adults my mom’s age (their parents were directly exposed during the War of American Aggression) and one was for kids - still today born with disabilities and birth defects bc agent orange alters the DNA.
58,000 Americans died in Vietnam.
Over 3,000,000 Vietnamese died.
And for fifty years, American culture has centered the grief of the 58,000 while treating the 3,000,000 as a backdrop.
