These numbers are randomly selected to determine candidate order on the ballot and applied to other races we manage.

- After emergency responders cleared Elections Headquarters yesterday, our team got back to work. We expect our results update this afternoon to include around 100,000 ballots. And we’ll be back at work tomorrow to continue processing.

- Replying to @kcelectionsThis situation kept Elections staff out of the building and away from processing ballots for approximately three hours. After the mailroom was cleared and cleaned by HAZMAT, ballot processing staff returned to work.
- Replying to @kcelectionsThe piece of concerning mail arrived in our mailroom, on the first floor, in our administrative suite. All ballots remained secured on the ballot processing floor and were monitored by both security cameras and livestreamed webcams viewable on the King County Elections website.
- Replying to @kcelectionsThe envelope was immediately isolated, the facility evacuated, and 911 was called. Law enforcement and HAZMAT teams arrived quickly to assess the situation.
- King County Elections expects to add approximately 20,000 ballots in today’s 4 p.m. results update. That 20,000 number is lower than usual because our building was evacuated this morning after we received a letter containing white powder.
