The story of what happened at the British Museum, how treasures ended up on ebay & the man who warned museum officials he believed a thief was selling them off. Our @BBCRadio4 series starts 1.45pm MONDAY, also @BBCSounds

Just for the record, Emily @maitlis has not been asked by the BBC to take tonight off - and if I thought she had been, I certainly wouldn’t have agreed to present the show @BBCNewsnight

Fantastic (& completely right) end credits on @jonsnowC4 last show @Channel4News . Tears in my house. Total dude. Journalism that inspired me to try and be better. Thank you Jon

@Louis_Tomlinson brought a TV into Glastonbury so folk could watch the football. I bumped into him right after England won #football #onedirection #Glasto2024 #england

Come on @Cambridge_Uni have some heart. He should have been the first person in his school EVER to go to Cambridge. Through no fault of his own, he misses out because the computer says he doesn’t deserve 4 A*s #travesty #Covid_19
“I wanted to make everyone that believed in me proud… I knew I could get those grades if I actually did the exams.” Mithushan Thiagarajah had an offer to read medicine at Cambridge and was predicted 4 A*s. Today he was downgraded and the offer has been withdrawn. #Newsnight

The mother of the sisters murdered in a London park speaking now on @BBCRadio4 is INCREDIBLE - cops taking selfies by her daughters’ bodies, family having to find murder weapon. SHOCKING. She says assumptions were made about the girls because of institutional racism

Sometimes you uncover a story that you have to keep rechecking because you can't believe it's true. That was the case when we started to investigate our series on unregulated children's homes. Could it really be right that vulnerable teenagers in care were being put in them?

After 7 years at Newsnight, I’ve got a new job as @BBCNews Culture Editor. There can’t be a better brief in TV news right now. Culture is the window into all our lives & I couldn’t resist the opportunity to tell the stories of our fascinating & diverse country in all its glory

The idea that people are dying in care homes and then, having been abandoned in this crisis, their deaths aren’t even being properly counted in the statistics thereby denying them even the most basic respect makes my blood boil. #coronavirusuk #carehomes

Outside BBC right now a man is trying to smash up Eric Gill statue while another man live streams talking about paedophiles. Gill’s horrific crimes are well known. But is this the way?

But anyone who works on the show - & that includes me - will feel deeply sad today about the end of @BBCNewsnight as we know and love it

Four years ago today I was standing at the foot of Grenfell Tower, reporting the unfolding horror. My thoughts are with the bereaved, survivors & residents as another painful anniversary comes around 💚💚💚

So many decisions are being weighed up in this crisis, but the hardest for me is how the lockdown is affecting vulnerable children. On tonight's @BBCNewsnight we look at the impact - a social worker tells us she was physically sick when she heard schools were closing

He’d just done his “wild” Pyramid stage set & Rick Astley told me he would play “in the car park” to get back to Glastonbury another year. It’s not over for this festival yet - he’ll be doing Smiths covers later with Blossoms on the Woodsies stage #Glastonbury #RickAstley
