I just watched her perform at the grio awards and she was doing a Patti tribute on there as well! She really don’t play when it comes to Ms Patti. Puts her whole foot in the performance.

Fam, thank you so much for the love you’re sending my way. I was taking up for a friend, a fellow black woman and her work and I’d do it again. By all means, crit the work. Question the ethics. You should. But for those who tried to come for me...nah son, ya played yourself.

Girl bye! Thats easy to say when you're sitting in the stands and didn't actually do any of the work. I happen to know the designers who worked on this and I know they care deeply about journalism. They are proud of their work, as they should be. Period.

I can't tell you how excited (and nervous) I am about joining @browsercompany!! But the people, the product and quite frankly the whole process made this a very easy decision for me. Everything just felt right!
🚨After years at Instagram, FB, and The New York Times, @karlamickens is joining the @browsercompany !!! Karla is a force. Her singular style and personality shines through in all her work. We want your browser to have style and personality too!! One of her weekend projects:

Girl youre reaching. But ok. You’re asking people who have dependents to up and leave jobs? Jobs that support families? Maybe you got money like that but I certainly don’t and wouldn’t expect others to make those types of life changing decisions.

Something i've noticed: Twitter designers are very (publicly) active on Twitter. IG designers are not very (publicly) active on IG.

If you follow Kobe, you know he was training Gianna Gigi to be a baller or Mambacita as they called her. I β€οΈβ€˜d seeing her highlights pop up on the timeline as she started to craft a mean jump shot. Also one of the motivations for giving my baby girl the same namesake. RIP πŸ’”

Re: this whole #DesignTwitter convo, I want to amplify this thread by @amelielamont because I think it is spot on.

There are black women #onhere who are way more versed and educated in this subject matter of design ethics than I. And they’ve been having this convo for a minute. I love listening to @amelielamont, @KristyT, @meredithdclark, @mayagpatterson to name a few.

Uh that would be a good argument if the designers were actually the ppl setting these standards but yea not the case here. The standards set by the company doesnt take away from the fact the ppl workin on the product believe deeply in trusted journalism.

Beloved I have been working for 6+ yrs now and can I tell you how dope it is to work with black women especially those in design. I’m just now getting to experience this at FB and I ain’t interested in going anywhere to be the only one again!
