I knew a guy like this when I first arrived in Japan. He quit his Interac job and got an IT job thinking he "escaped"... Turns out the job was a temp job, he had no idea because he didn't read his contract. Bragged about how he did his interview all his Japanese yet couldn't --

When are tourists going to understand that 1) there are different types of blossoms 2) Japan isn't all Tokyo 3) because of 2), there's different climate & weather 4) it's stupid to plan a trip around sakura...

I'm always surprised when I see how some tourists really think Japan is a paradise and that Japan can do no wrong. I think that's a very dangerous mindset to have.

Before I left Japan, I knew I had to go back to Shinsekai for a stroll. It was really fun. There was just so much character there.
