- Damian Lillard says he will not compete in All-Star game or 3 pt. Contest because of groin injury. Says he hopes somebody deserving like Devin Booker replaces him.

- Before game, 11-year-old Ethan was brought to tears when he got @Dame_Lillard’s autograph. “Why you crying?” Lillard asked. “It’s my first time meeting you, bro” Ethan said. Lillard couldn’t get over his response.

- Jusuf Nurkic said he started dressing at home with 3 minutes left in the third quarter. By the time he arrived there was 3:20 left in game and Blazers down 113-105. “I knew I could make a difference,” he said.
- It can not be overstated how much Carmelo Anthony has helped the Blazers. Their spacing, cutting and passing for past two games has been at another level. Still early in this venture, but boy looks like this could be fun. He’s been really good for them.
- I rarely, if ever, comment on officiating. That no-goaltending call on Lillard layin late at Utah was egregious. NBA refs simply have to be better. Crazy how all 3 didn’t see something so obvious.
- What a win for the Blazers. What an about face to a season. What an era we are witnessing with Damian Lillard.
- Gary Trent Jr. is no longer a Trail Blazer, but he will forever be an example of the heights one can reach with hard work and determination. From the minute he was drafted, Trent Jr. never accepted that he was a second-rounder, and he put in the work to prove it.
- Anfernee Simons is the first Trail Blazers player to win the NBA Dunk Contest.
