- Chicago is nice and all, but I do wonder what is in the water there that makes Chiagoans act like this on the internet, just a next level commitment to boosterismchicago is the most glorious city on earth
- Boston kinda has this, though in true American fashion, itโs 20 feet from a highway๏ผก tiered design lawn in Shanghai, with shady trees overhead, a favorite for office workers to take lunch breaks.
- The time and place to protest tipping culture is not after you were served a meal by a waitress who you knew was expecting a tip.Tipping is such a scam in New York!๐ Why do I pay extra just because restaurants pay minimum hourly wages? Ordered a crepe, club sandwich and Panini for $45(Rs. 3800). We paid $50 cash and the waiter just took the rest as tip. I asked for change and she said "you have to pay
- This is the form of transport we have decided to orient our entire society around
00:00 - The Big Dig is a cautionary tale and not a template for other cities hoping to achieve similar transformationsBoston did it.
- Replying to @ExileGrimmSwedish and English yields a lot of these. Bussterminal and Bus terminal
- No tax on tips is definitely one of those policies that will have very wild unforeseen circumstances. Like youโll have to start tipping doctors or something stupidThis is going mainstream. Write โvote Kamala Harris for no tax on tipsโ on your receipts. I did.Readers added contextEd Krassenstein did not actually write this in a receipt that was given to a server. Note the fact that the receipt says "Customer Copy" at the bottom. Krassenstein confirms this is fake in a later post x.com/EdKrassen/statโฆ
- I know I have Northeast brain but SFโs massive residential streets with barely any trees seem crazy to me. Like this road is wider than Mass Ave and itโs some random neighborhood street.Iโm working on the west side today and am continuously getting punched in the gut with waves of nostalgia.
- When I lived in London at times it really felt like if you combined 6 Bostons into one city and this photo really emphasizes that point.I'll never not be thrilled by the contrasts one constantly comes across in the City
- I know this is an extreme example, but we donโt talk enough about how unaffordable commercial rents are and how it sucks the life out of the city.If you can pay over $75,000 a month in rent, you can have a restaurant in Kenmore Square.
- Crazy that this would actually make HSR between Boston and NYC easierhear me out
- Replying to @BostonGenomicsThe big dig transformed downtown boston by removing the horrible central artery. However it was a badly managed project that went billions over budget, got people killed, and increased car infrastructure to the detriment of public transport.
- I pay โฌ40 for three months of unlimited public transit
