    Has the UK tried to claim half the #German #CarIndustry or half the #French #Vineyards? No, we haven't! Then what gives @michaelbarnier and the #EU the right to demand half of #Britain's #fishing #rights before the #FTA #negotiations even start? #StayStrong @borisjohnson.

    To 186 coastal MP's. There's rumours @Keir_Starmer is about to surrender our waters to the EU. Are we not an independent coastal state ? What country would hand over a rich resource (fish). Fish quota is a public asset. Have the GB public been asked ?

    Attended and voted at my first Fisheries committee today. Can’t believe LibDem MEP @ChrisDaviesLD told me outside UK territorial waters belong to EU and we are not leaving. He aggressively stuck his face in mine. Not the action of a British gentleman No surrender!

    The European Fish Producers Organisations estimate a loss of €20 billion a year if they loose access to UK waters. Thats a lot more than the insignificant industry were portrayed to be. The EU have built new fleets and infrastructure off the back of access to our waters.

    Yesterday, in the #EuropeanParliament, I demanded to know why a #supertrawler 14-times bigger than an average #UK #fishingboat is allowed to suck-up fish in an area thought to be a #seabass spawning ground; when #BritishFishers are #banned from catching bass due to their scarcity

    The Dutch have taken advantage of UK waters for far to long, Electric Pulse Fishing, Super Trawlers. ITV what about U.K. Coastal Communities that have had the heart ripped out of them, did the Dutch care about them NO.

    For @BorisJohnson to break his word and give away #UK #fishingrights in the #EU #FTAtalks, would be an act of #betrayal the electorate would never forgive. Remember, it's not just #coastalcommunities counting on you! Fishing is the true test of #Brexit

    The UK will take back control of its territorial waters after it leaves the bloc and it will be able to decide whether to grant non-British boats access.

    France has 93% of quota for cod in the English Channel. In the Celtic sea France gets 3x times the British allocation of Dover Sole, 4x more cod, & 5x more Haddock. Fish is a public asset, it belongs to us, has @Keir_Starmer asked you if he can trade your asset away ? Shocking.

    I can't believe that after supporting #UKfisheries and #coastalcommunities, @BorisJohnson will abandon them to unchecked #EU control for 11 months. With less than two weeks to go before #Brexit, it is paramount we have an oversight mechanism on EU fisheries policy.
