- Given the reporting about the “attribution issues” with the hit podcast Crime Junkie, I thought the time was right to talk about my experience with the comedy/history podcast @thedollop. A THREAD.
- Replying to @josh_levinI do want people to listen to my podcast, THE QUEEN, which is based on all the original reporting I did, and includes the voices of people who knew Linda Taylor

- Replying to @josh_levinIt took me a little less than 6 years to turn that 2013 Slate article into a book, THE QUEEN, which came out this May. Real research is incredibly time-consuming and expensive. It’s insulting and offensive for The Dollop to claim that’s what they do.

- Replying to @josh_levinBut that legalistic debate misses the point IMO. Whether it’s technically infringement or not, whether it’s fair use or not, this behavior from The Dollop is certainly unethical/ungenerous/rude/shitty
- This Brett Favre welfare scam reminds me of something connected to the media coverage of Linda Taylor. Around the same time the Chicago Tribune went big on the "welfare queen" story, the paper also wrote about a different public aid scandal ...
