The photos released by the WH tonight of the president working at Walter Reed were taken 10 minutes apart at 5:25:59 pm and 5:35:40 pm ET Saturday, according to the EXIF data embedded in both @AP wire postings that were shared by the White House this evening.

It’s hard to overstate how important of a moment this is in modern aircraft design. Almost 400 people aboard that A350 and all got out safely after sustaining heavy damage. A lot of analyses and small scale tests on carbon fiber just got a massive trove of new data.

I’m sitting in Seattle and the timezone adjusted on the AP site by three hours, so 8:xx ET, rather. The time between the photos and the EXIF stamp on the AP wire is still 10 min apart.

I told the toddler that we could watch the SpaceX launch together, but she had to hurry and brush her teeth and get her PJs on to race the countdown clock. She did. This is @elonmusk’s greatest gift.

We need to stop for moment and take stock of the abject evisceration of the Russian commercial aircraft fleet and airline market that is currently taking place.
