England legend Anita Asante has publicly dedicated her ‘Game Changer’ award at the Women’s Football Awards to trans people. 👏 She says: “Now is not the time to be silent. I call on my fellow sports professionals to speak up in support.” For @outsports

Wow, Nancy vs Le Mans in Ligue 2 was stopped by the ref due to homophobic chanting 👏 “After a first request over the PA system to stop these songs, without success, the match referee, Mehdi Mokhtari, decided to stop the game for a few moments. The match resumed soon after.”
For first ever time in France, following new guidelines to tackle all discrimination, a match was stopped by the referee tonight, due to homophobic abuse. Players appealed to fans to stop. FYI @jonboy79. eurosport.fr/football/ligue…

Terribly sad to read about Lizzie Lowe, and hugely disappointing that after @stjamesemmanuel’s embrace of LGBT inclusion following her death, “25 members of the congregation left the church in protest”. Perspective brings love. Story via @MENnewsdesk 🌈

“The claim that anyone can rise to the top if they work hard enough reflects an ideology... that those at the top are the most talented, brightest, hardest working; those at the bottom are lazy, feckless & stupid. It is a convenient means to rationalise & justify inequality.” 👏
Britain’s national press is rigged in favour of the privileged, is almost entirely owned by right wing oligarchs, and demonises minorities. These are the facts. medium.com/p/4aea67ed3855…

Curious as to why BBC News isn’t also reporting this story, at the time of writing? I can’t find it on their app or website. ‘The group arrived in the UK following interventions by the foreign secretary, along with the support of organisations, Rainbow Railroad and Stonewall.’

Guess Southgate thought it was just a handful of LGBTQ England fans who were prepared to show their disappointment in Henderson (and in the manager for selecting him), which would’ve felt easy to brush off. Turns out a lot of other supporters don’t buy the ‘explanations’ either.
"I really don't UNDERSTAND it!"😡 Gareth Southgate clearly not happy with England fans booing Jordan Henderson when the midfielder was substituted in England's 1-0 win against Australia! 🔗youtu.be/HqgaYSRx0HY

Anti-LGBT bullying is particularly damaging to young people, even if they don’t identify as LGBT. For those who do, at a vulnerable stage in life, fearing that friends, family and society may not be accepting... it’s awful those individuals may think they have no one to turn to.

The Supreme Court of India, population 1.3 billion, has begun a review of the country’s anti-gay law (decriminalisation in 2009, but was reintroduced in 2013). #Section377 dates from 1861 and was enacted by the British Raj. Freedom to love for LGB people in India 🇮🇳🏳️‍🌈✊

straight dude on sexuality: do what you like, I don’t care, it’s 2019 * bi man when asked says he’s bi * straight dude writes comment: woooah why are you disclosing this, we don’t need to know, yawn, etc (and 👏 to @ladyhaja for the article)
Love Island’s Curtis is proof that, in 2019, it’s still hard for men to come out as bisexual theguardian.com/society/shortc…

A lovely little quirk about the EFL at the moment is that Morecambe are top of League Two after five games - BUT with a negative goal difference 🤯 Must be super rare. Four wins by a one-goal margin and a 5-0 shoeing by second-placed Cambridge. @SkySportsStatto
