    People are freaking out about the recent news that Twitter devs can see your DMs. Twitter isn't open-source. Twitter cannot be publicly audited. Do not trust their blackbox with your data. Assume everything is being watched. Assume nothing is private―not even your DMs.

    *Supposed* is the key word here. @elonmusk inherited the system, and purged much of the previous team. We later learned just how integrated censorship-controls were in the platform, which complicates matters even more. It will take a new team some time to familiarize and improve.
