- Well, this is interesting. Papa John’s today named … Shaquille O’Neal its newest board member. The former NBA star will also invest in nine locations in Atlanta. O’Neal currently owns a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts franchise and 27 Five Guys.
- I miss the days when Popeyes chicken sandwich was the biggest restaurant story.
- Chipotle is testing Chipotle Honey Chicken in Nashville and Sacramento. The chicken is marinated with adobo peppers and Mexican spices and finished with honey. Company says it received the highest marks among any chicken innovation it's ever tested. $CMG

- So, uh, KFC is bringing back its bunless Double Down Sandwich for four weeks starting on March 6. It features two pieces of bacon, cheese and either mayo or spicy sauce between two crispy chicken filets. First time in nine years it's been on the U.S. menu.
