To all my brothers that the LORD has assigned to the very hard places. Stay strong. Your worth is not found in a social media post of a packed worship center on Easter. Your worth is found in the cross and your calling. Only eternity will reveal the true fruit of your labor.
Two photos from two of my SBC pastor brothers tonight. Rejoicing for packed houses for Christmas Eve services (often multiple) but also thankful for the sometimes lonely/ weary pastors faithfully serviing in the hardest of places. There are no small assignments in the kingdom.
Take some time tonight and pray for the unaccompanied minors stranded in the Atlanta Airport & for the airline staff who are responsible for them pray for their parents who are deeply concerned about them and pray for calmness rather the fear to surround them #atlairport
Preached to 11 saints today, the faithful remnant of a once thriving church. The local association is leading them to replant. No where I’d rather preach today - if you know me you know the truth of that statement. These “forgotten” churches are my much loved mission field.
Pastor I say this often- it needs to be said often. Don't seek your worth in the number of people to whom you'll preach tomorrow. You worth is in Christ. Your success in ministry is found in your faithfulness to Him and your obedience to His call not in the number attending.
My heart goes out the tens of thousands of SBC pastors who tomorrow won’t look upon a beautiful modern worship center filled with people or great musicians leading singing. No that’s not where they’ve been called. Brother, God knows where you are and that is more than enough.
I’m serving interim pastor at Faith United Baptist in rural MO. I am convinced the normative size SBC church is a treasure! Tens of thousands of churches just like this one. Small and unnoticed by most. But faithful yr end and yr out. Don’t underestimate their eternal impact
Pastor, regardless of how many or how few people attend gathered worship tomorrow- the risen Christ will be there. Sleep well, preach with confidence. Your work matters. Jesus will build his church.
Some pastors get no “pastor appreciation month” acknowledgment .Your King knows the works you do. Every hour spent in study, every phone call or visit, every night in prayer for your members, every time you lock up/clean up the building etc. Jesus sees it all & He is your reward.
I’m transitional pastor at Spring Valley. Top picture 3 weeks ago lower picture today. I ask them to move up & close together.Explained this greatly enhanced their worship and glorified God. I arrived this morning and they surprised me, they all moved! Small steps are big things
NO FOOD OR DRINK IN SANCTUARY! You know I’ve never seen a cup of coffee or a donut walk into a worship service without a person attached. And lots of churches with strict rules about drinks/food in the sanctuary are in dire need of PEOPLE
