Anyone else feeling overwhelmed by the relentless drive to corral us into a cashless, card only, contant cookies, upgrade prompts and unsolicited contacts from people we don't actually know ?
You don't see too many of these century-old post boxes still in action today. The SÉ logo at the bottom stands for Saorstát Eireann, The Irish Free State. Location best left undisclosed, I reckon.
Mindful that pride comes before a fall, it's with much gratitude that I say welcome to the show's 4,000 new listeners and many thanks to all my regulars. Still plenty of room down the back, so please spread the word. Míle buíochas. You can listen here. 👇
Many Irish people are having difficulty pronouncing #StormJorge . So, when it's our next turn to name a storm, I propose we go for #StormMaedbh or maybe even #StormTadghMhicilín . All suggestions welcome.
When I was a boy, my English teacher, Humphrey Twomey, taught us the value of critique. Read something. Don't rush to judgement but consider it from every angle. Each boy in the class was then allowed his own opinion. Whenever I encounter instant outrage here, I miss Mr. Twomey.
Some day ! #KellieHarrington wins gold and #Cork through to the #AllIrelandFinal ! I've had three breakfasts and no dinner and I'm off to bed after the Angelus. Me body clock is wrecked and me emotions drained but my heart is soaring and soon I'll be snoring.
Thanks & g'night.🇮🇪
Thank you Sharon. It has been a sureal experience. The avalanche of love for Sinead that rolled into the show from around the world was truly staggering. People can listen back to the programme here -

A time for sharing stories, so here's mine. March 2001 I'm in my hotel room in Bejing. My mobile rings & an unmistakeable voice says 'John Creedon ? Would you play a round of golf this afternoon?' 'Sorry Micheál, I'm in China.' sez I. 'I know.' sez he 'I'm in reception.' #Micheál
