With heavy heart I have had to say to big issue vendors “your well being comes first, so no selling on the streets. You have to be in doors. out of harms way.” So by selling a digital mag we will get the money to them to survive. So please buy digital at

My sincerest condolences to James Bowen. #streetcatbob will be truly missed. Bob rose to fame by James Bowen’s side as he sold @BigIssue magazines in London. We agree that there's never been a cat like him.

I came into @UKHouseofLords to do nothing more than to prevent poverty from happening in the 1st instance But the future is always being postponed & so the crisis of now will never be resolved if we don't think about the future Our #futuregenerations bill makes the future today

I had the pleasure of appearing on @BBCBreakfast alongside Dave Martin, a vendor for @BigIssue, to celebrate the commencement of the 5-year @HomewardsUK programme by @KensingtonRoyal.

A strong sense of the possible. Get thru this viral nightmare.Get homeless people off the streets. Every last one. Make every vulnerable person in the community special. Leave no one behind. Embrace our health workers to our hearts. Embrace our committed providers. Think as one.

Deeply disappointed by the absence of empathy demonstrated last night. To deny 1.4m children routes to at least one good meal a day over winter should not be a politicised matter. We all must demand better.

If you really want to screw the world, then close the libraries. Close the future. And say: 'Bollocks to knowledge.' bit.ly/2HY4Lao @ChapterCatcher

It fills us with pride and joy to announce that @BigIssue vendors are back out selling as of today. Please look out for your local vendor and buy a copy of the magazine. We're so pleased to be back.

28 years ago today, The Big Issue was born on the streets of London - it was turmoil, stupidity, chaos, but also inspiration - so thank you to everyone, and especially our vendors, readers and staff, for growing our movement for change bit.ly/2m7bbM0

My letter in today's @Telegraph - we must never again turn a blind eye to the human rights abuse of street dwelling, let's make this the year we end homelessness in the UK bit.ly/supportbigissue #supportbigissue

We need to prevent people from falling down; and, if they've fallen, we need to offer a hand-up as quickly as we can goo.gl/IsdkcA

As a former binman, food deliverer and cleaner, I can tell you it’s the first time that such labours have gone noticed in my lifetime. We must wake up to how we all in fact need one another, and begin by baking the right ingredients for #socialjustice bit.ly/2ZlsBGp
