There is NO travel ball tournament, showcase or practice that is more important/valuable to your recruiting than attending a camp on campus at a school you are interested in.

Had a recruit tell me she was sorry, she really wanted to play for me but was going somewhere else because there wasn’t much to do in Palatka. I said please don’t apologize, if softball isn’t more important to you than that, then you’re making the right decision.

Players - Tell your parents to stop sending emails/DMs on your behalf. If you want to play for me I want to hear from you.

Why are camps deemed “money pits” by those who spend $10k a summer traveling the country for a tournament/showcase every weekend? Be realistic and attend the right camps and it’s probably the single best investment you can make in your recruiting process.

When I offer a recruit they always ask when they need to give me an answer. I tell them when they are 100% they want to come here. I don’t want you to commit because of a deadline. With that said, and as time passes, we have to keep recruiting.

Recruiting the last several weekends and saw a lot of recently committed players who don't look to be playing with the same energy and focus they had prior to committing. We don't recruit you because of the player you are, we recruit you because of the player we think you can be.

Travel softball coaches when we ask what year a player is we are looking for graduation year not birth year. Giving out scholarships not birthday presents.

Just got a msg from some dude with no pic and no followers. It read…bro your following to followers ratio isn’t good enough to be giving advice. Bro, I coach at a JUCO I’m just happy to have any followers

If you think this game should continue you’ve never been an athlete.

I don’t think parents/players understand the value of attending camps at schools they are interested in. Here’s why you go: 1. Shows me you are interested 2. I get to spend a few hours working with you and getting to know you 3. I’ve made at least 1 offer at every camp I’ve had

I have 2 more scholarships remaining for this year. Transfers and uncommitted 2022s send me some info. Would like one to be a pitcher, the other just needs to be athletic...I'll figure out the rest. And, by the way, I had 7 players move on to 4 yr schools this year!

Hypothetical scenario to find out who’s honest: The #1 D1 softball program in the country offers you 25% but doesn’t have your exact major. A very good D3 softball program offers you 100% academic scholarship and are the #1 school in the country for your major. Where do you go?

Prospects - Go to games this season: JUCO, NAIA, D2, D1...in that order. Each game, look at the players. Ask yourself, am I similar to their: size, speed, arm strength, defense, offense...Be honest. If yes, go to the next game. If no, find schools at that level to target.
